June 12, 2013: The Cybersecurity Debate: Is Offense the New Defense in Security Strategy?
5:00-8:30pm, MET Building at UCSD

Cybersecurity has started to go on the offensive.  Rather than focusing on traditional reactive measures, Cybersecurity experts are starting to deploy “offensive” proactive or adversarial approaches to protecting computer systems, networks, and individuals from attacks. This has stirred up much discussion and controversy from all sides.  MITEF San Diego brings together a leading group of Cybersecurity experts to:

  • Discuss how cyber attacks are changing
  • Dive into the ethical and moral discussions around offensive vs. defensive security approaches
  • Explore how Big Data and predictive analytics are making proactive security a reality
  • Share their viewpoints on compliance security vs. regulatory
